Molly's Tips
I use this product on everything and I take it everywhere! Basically because it has my all time favorite “go to” ingredient, Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in it. WHAT! Yes you have it right in your kitchen cabinet and if you did not know it yet, it has been used for hundreds of years for exfoliating, toning and as an antibacterial agent. This is great on cleansing mild abrasions, for a quick cleanse post work out/between classes/after school 4 kiddies, as an after waxing astringent and skin soother. I even use it (on cotton rounds) to clean the tips and tops of all my cosmetic products.
Fun Facts
Back in the day when I was a strict Raw Foodist, my very good friend and mentor in the Raw food life showed how to make a Hibiscus Flower burrito using the Hibiscus flowers (without stems) and some sun dried rice, tomatoes and herbs, all rolled into the leaves of the plant. Yummy! The flowers are edible and make a beautiful addition to any salad or appetizer.
Key Active Concentrate - ALA Alpha Lipoic Acid
Alpha lipoic acid is made by the body and can be found in very small amounts in foods such as spinach, broccoli, peas, Brewer’s yeast, brussel sprouts, rice bran, and organ meats. This powerful antioxidant is active against a broad spectrum of free radicals. This potent ingredient assists in protecting skin cells from head to toe, preventing the formation of premature wrinkles.
ALA may very well join the ranks of Vitamin C and E as part of your first-line of defense against free radicals. Known as the “Univeral” Antioxidant, It neutralizes free radicals in both the fatty and watery regions of cells. It directly recycles and extends the metabolic lifespans of vitamin C and it indirectly renews vitamin E. SWEET!

Luminous Ingredient - Neroli Orange Flower Oil-Fruit Extract (Citrus Aurantium Amara)
Abundantly found all over our beautiful and lush Costa Rican country side, the bitter or Seville orange tree, Citrus Aurantium. Neroli oil is actually extracted from the blossoms of the tree which belongs to the Rutaceae plant or evergreen family and grows up to 20 feet in the wild.
A staple of man’s diet for centuries, a single class of orange juice contains enough vitamin C to meet the recommended daily intake for an average adult.
Costa Rica’s climate creates the perfect climate for orange trees to thrive, which is why we have nearly 5 million orange trees throughout. A staple of the local Costa Rican diet, used locally to for increased metabolism and increasing energy levels, it is traditionally revered as an energizing and thermogenic elixir.
All of the oranges flower blossoms here, picked by hand. Here at Raw Botanicals, we choose the hand made, steam distilled version sourced from Australia. We believe it is the best small batched quality available.
It is said that the native NamuWökir (BriBri Costa Rican) tribe used the orange blossoms within their bridal ceremonial procession, because the fragrance created a mood-altering neurotransmitter, and enhanced feelings of serenity and well-being in the young brides.
Native shamans or Awá, still use a version of Neroli oil for improved tone, texture and elasticity of skin, and to help reduce the appearance of scarring and stretch marks.
Intensely sweet, fresh and camphoraceous, Neroli oil has a “gran aroma” coming alive with vibrant high and low notes when diluted and imparts a radiant refreshing scent.
Featured Ingredient - Hibiscus Hydrosol
Hibiscus is soothing for irritated and inflamed skin. It has a natural cleansing effect. Hibiscus tones the skin, leaving it smooth and balanced. Costa Rica is covered in these beautiful flowers in every color. Red is the most potent so we use that variety.
Featured Ingredient - Apple Cider Vinegar
Using various vinegars for cosmetic purposes goes back centuries – vinegars are highly acidic and help to preserve natural cosmetics.
