Molly's Tips
Many of the ingredients chosen in our body wash were made from renewable sources and the process to manufacture this product uses low energy.
Plant-friendly products like are Papaya Tangerine Body Wash and full product range are key when reusing your greywater. For greywater irrigation, all amenities products should be biodegradable and non-toxic, which we are proud to be! In addition, a truly sustainable product should be free of salt (sodium) and boron (borax), two common ingredients that are non-toxic to people but are harmful to plants and/or the soil.
Another consideration with cleaning and beauty products is their effect on the pH of the water. While many soaps do not change the pH, some do. In general, liquid soaps like our RB soaps, do not change the pH, while bar soaps make the water very basic (opposite of acidic).
Acid-loving plants are NOT happy with this kind of water. If you’re uncertain if the pH is being affected choose plants that are not acid-loving to irrigate. Acid-loving plants include ferns, rhododendrons, and blueberries.
Try this! Next time you shower with our body wash, place a bucket in the shower to collect your greywater. Use this immediately to water your house plants in the winter and plants in the garden during warmer months!
Our Costa Rican Raw Botanicals gardens are stock full of palms, citrus trees, avocado, rhododendrons, ferns, and local “mora berry” bush which is much like a raspberry. We irrigate our entire garden with greywater

Luminous Ingredient - Fresh Papaya Extract (Carica papaya)
What fruit is good for you, aids in digestion, makes a great smoothie, and can tenderize meat? If you guessed the papaya, a popular fruit grown throughout Costa Rica, you are right! The papaya plant, which is actually an herb, not a tree, is known as the “star” of Costa Rica farming.
Although the exact origin of the papaya is unknown, it is considered to be native to either Costa Rica or southern Mexico.
The papaya fruit has become so popular that not only is it found growing wild in the rain forests, but also in residential and resort gardens, small neighborhood groves, and as a vital crop throughout Costa Rica.
Stay alert on your next visit to Costa Rica, papaya groves are great places to spot toucans and monkeys because they are attracted to the sweet, juicy fruit of this delicious plant.
The fruit is highly nutritious, containing vitamins A, B, and C, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and iron; it also contains malic and pyruvic acids, two potent alpha hydroxy acids, and the enzyme papain.
We use fresh local Costa Rican papaya extract in our Mango Dream Cream, Papaya Tangerine Body Wash, and our lovely and wondrous Papaya Facial Renewing Polish.
In season, pick up a ripe papaya and eat up!
You can lather up and enjoy any one of our amazing Raw Botanicals products loaded with papaya extract (AHA) on the outside, while you eat the potassium and fiber in your fresh papaya which is a traditional Costa Rican method used to help tighten your tummy.
